1. Why do
I need International Health Insurance?
Because most US domestic health care policies, including Medicare,
DO NOT cover you for treatment of illness or injury while you are
away from your country of origin. Even if they do, they are usually
not equipped to handle the logistical challenges of language, transportation,
repatriation or claim processing that a medical stay or treatment
in a foreign country may cause.
If you are a Non-US citizen, the same holds true. National Health
Plans of most countries will not pay claims incurred outside of
your country or the USA. And US Visa eligibility may be dependent
on showing proof of adequate coverage.

2. You have
so many plans for International/Travel Medical insurance. How
do I decide which one is for me?
We have different plans to suit your individual needs based on
your plans for travel. Use the table below to help determine which
type of coverage meets your particular requirements. The products
are linked to more detailed plan information within this site.
Still not sure? Contact via Email or phone (1-866-895-0147).

3. How do
I purchase insurance?
There's three simple ways to purchase:
- Online: You can purchase it instantly online, if you are paying
by credit card. (Go there)
- Fax: You can fax the application to us at 1-262-642-8759 with
your credit care information. Your application is immediately
faxed to the Home Office.
- Mail: You can send us the application along with payment by
credit or check/money order enclosed with it. We will process
your application as soon as we receive it.
Phone: We can also take your application over the phone at
1-866-895-0147

4. When does
my coverage become effective?
You will have coverage from the latest of the following dates:
- The date IMG received your completed Enrollment Form and the
appropriate premium.
- The date you depart from your country of citizenship.
- The date requested on your Enrollment form.
For Global Medical Insurance, the effective date of the insurance
will be the later of:
- The effective date requested on the applications.
- The date the Insured person departs the U.S.
- The date the application is accepted by IMG and a Certificate
of insurance is issued.

5. When does
my coverage end?
Coverage ends on the earliest of the following date:
- The end of the period for which premium has been paid.
- The date requested on your Enrollment forms.
- The date you return to your country of residence.

6. When should
I buy the insurance?
Since coverage begins on the date you specify, as soon as your
trip is confirmed, you may purchase the insurance. Simply select
the start date to coincide with the date of departure from your
home country.

7. My relative
is not here. Can I buy it for them?
Yes. Anyone can purchase the plans online as proxy on behalf of
their family members.

8. My trip
has already started. Can I purchase now?
Not to worry. You can arrange coverage from anywhere in the world.
It just takes a few minutes and you are covered subject to clearance
of payment. The effective date in this situation is 12:01AM on the
day following the date of purchase.

9. I left
this to the last minute and don't have time to receive insurance
documents in the mail. How can I obtain those?
The best way is to purchase online via a credit card. With that,
you will receive a confirmation Email within the hour. You may
print that page, which includes your Certificate Number, as a temporary
confirmation of your order. In addition, the on-line transaction
will ask for an address for which to send the physical policy and
ID cards.
If you need paper documentation of coverage immediately, you may
still do the same on-line purchase as above (and still receive the
confirmation email with Certificate Number) and request Express
Delivery of the physical policy. Express Delivery will be sent to
the address you specify for an additional US$20.

10. Can
I be turned down for coverage?
The Patriot and Outreach Travel International Health Plans are
guaranteed issue, regardless of health history. The Global and
Global Mission Medical Insurance plans are subject to medical underwriting.

11. I am
leaving on a trip for 10 days, what should I do?
New for 2004 are daily rates for the Patriot International and
the Patriot America products. Patriot plans can
now be issued for a minimum of 10 days and daily thereafter if
your trip is less then 30 days. Therefore,

12. I am
a US citizen who travels often, which plan should I buy?
If you happen to make frequent trips less than 30 days each trip,
the Patriot Executive is best suited to your needs. This plan allows
you to take as many trips outside your country of citizenship each
year as long as each trip is less than 30 consecutive days in duration.
This plan is only available to US citizens who are covered by a
primary health insurance plan via their employer.

13. What
is IMG's refund policy?
IMG will refund the policy premium if the policy was cancelled
by the insured in writing prior to the effective date of the policy.
You will not be refunded once the coverage starts. You need to
contact IMG directly to cancel your policy.

14. If
I have a claim while traveling overseas, what do I do?
Contact IMG directly ASAP. Click here to access information for IMG's
contact page, and claims
page.

15. Do
I need to have primary health insurance to buy the single trip
Patriot travel medical insurance?
No. Only the multi-trip Patriot Executive plan requires you to
have primary health insurance coverage.

16. I am
traveling for 6 months or more, which Patriot Plan should I
buy?
The Patriot ExPatriot Plus is your best bet.

is IMG?
IMG is the administrator of the International Travel Health Plans.
